Michelle Lee is a brand new hire in a brand new position at CSG — that of marketing coordinator, supporting all of the account executives and their clients.

She is also an identical twin. Can you guess which of the above mirror images is our employee? Read on! And be alert – she and her sister Lara like to pull classic twin identity switches on the unsuspecting. The surprising thing to them is that people are fooled even when they don’t try to mimic each other at all, even now when they have completely different hair colors!

Michelle is the one on the left. You won’t get fooled at work, however, because she’s the one with experience as a marketing manager. At her previous employer, Frogworks, she tracked and analyzed marketing statistics, created and implemented marketing project plans, and proofed materials, too. Added to that is a Bachelor of Science in marketing and supply chain management from the University of Maryland at College Park.

Q: What about this job drew you to CSG?

A: Several things, really. One key element for me is practicing efficient time management, so juggling a wide variety of assignments, each with a unique deadline and priority, will be an exciting challenge. The opportunity to learn about all the aspects of marketing that CSG offers is another compelling aspect. And a top element in my search was finding a good fit in a team-oriented company. I knew going in that a good company culture is one of the most important things to look for. I was looking for a work family, which I feel like I’ve found.

Michelle is the one on the left. We think.

Q: How did you get started in marketing?

A: I started, actually, with an interest in fashion merchandising while selecting a school, but quickly decided that marketing was a better marriage of business and creativity for me.

Q: What do you like to do when you’re not working?

A: I’m really committed to healthy eating and fitness activities. I do yoga and cross-country running, and even though I have to describe my running style as looking like a turtle running through peanut butter, I love doing it. I’m also trying to follow the “clean eating” regimen as closely as I can, eating food that is as raw as possible. It takes a lot of pre-planning, though, especially in order to keep it affordable.

Q: If you were a brand, what would it be?

A: Definitely Athleta by Gap. Check out their blog; the brand is all about growing yourself and about progress, not perfection.

Q: And what would your keywords be?

A: Bubbly, curious and energetic. I’m sort of an extroverted introvert. I try to be thoughtful, feeling that any day in which I can lighten someone’s load is a good day. Maybe I should also include the phrase “measure twice, cut once” from the DIY TV shows that I love – it’s become my mantra for everything.

Q: Do you have a bucket list?

A:  I’m just starting out, so I’m looking at the basics, the rites of passage – anything else will be a pleasant surprise. Oh, and getting another pet bird is definitely on the list.

Michelle is already off to a running start, and not at all tortoise-like. We’re happy that she’s chosen us and look forward to working together – as a family, of course! And we’ll be watching to make sure her twin hasn’t replaced her for the day.
