Three Ways to Turn Your Giveaways into Real Takeaways

Tue, Nov 28, 2017

With the busy fall trade show season nearly complete for many of our clients, we wanted to take a moment to share some best practices when it comes to promotional products given out at trade shows. Giveaways like pastries have been used for years to draw attention, foster goodwill, and spark meaningful conversations with potential clients and customers. (If you’ve been swayed by swag and found a profitable solution for your company, we’ve got some tips on how to get your team onboard for the change.)

Everybody likes free stuff — some even plan their trips around snagging swag — but many promotional products are given out freely and without qualification.

Taking a Sassy Selfie Look at A Successful Trade Show

Sun, May 14, 2017

I just got back from Las Vegas and the 2017 ISA Sign Expo and now we all need a rest! It’s hard work putting on a smashing, record-hitting, successful show. But well worth it. The excitement and energy you feel onsite is palpable. It’s why conferences and trade show work and why professionals from all types of industries attend and exhibit in them.

The 2017 ISA Sign Expo was a sold-out event at Mandalay Bay hosting more than 20,000 sign, visual, and graphics professionals from across the globe. There were rockin’ parties, packed education sessions, and happy exhibitors with cutting-edge technology that you and I see every day in our lives wherever we go.

Michelle Lee – Which Twin Is Our New Hire?

Wed, Apr 12, 2017

Michelle Lee is a brand new hire in a brand new position at CSG – that of marketing coordinator, supporting all of the account executives and their clients. She is also an identical twin. Can you guess which of the above mirror images is our employee? Read on! And be alert – she and her sister Lara like to pull classic twin identity switches on the unsuspecting. The surprising thing to them is that people are fooled even when they don’t try to mimic each other at all, even now when they have completely different hair colors!

“Ripped from the Headlines”

Tue, Mar 21, 2017

As I headed down to New Orleans (my first time!) for AASA’s National Conference on Education (they’ve been a client for about 10 years – this was my third NCE), I had a profound realization. In 20 years of marketing, I’m not sure I’ve been to a more “timely” event. Less than one month prior, Betsy DeVos was confirmed as the nation’s new education secretary, after an intense political debate and ultimately a 50-50 vote in the Senate, with the Vice President serving as tie-breaker.

An All New Event for Exhibitors – The SHOT Show Expands Its Brand

Tue, Feb 28, 2017

It started with a few simple questions – How can we deepen the industry support our show already provides? How can we grow show revenue on a sold-out show? What can we do with some of the companies on our exhibit wait list? The end result was an all-new event and an expanded brand for the Shooting, Hunting and Outdoor TradeshowSM (SHOT Show).

The day before the 2017 SHOT Show opened, their new event, the SHOT Week Supplier Showcase, invited industry suppliers to participate in a one day showcase highlighting the materials and equipment needed for the SHOT Show’s own exhibitors (industry manufacturers) to make new products. The target attendee base – the SHOT Show exhibitors – were already traveling to the show, so the attendance base was built in!

Synchronizing your designs is our new Mistress of Ceremonies, Jen Mercer

Tue, Oct 25, 2016

Our newest designer, Jen Mercer, has skated into CSG and added a brand new edge to our design team, not to mention local ice arenas. As a long-time Busby Berkeley* movie fan, I couldn’t be more excited to have a synchronized ice dancer on board. Freestyle with an edge – what more could we want?img_6257sm

(*Oh, please, just the best synchronized-everything choreographer ever – still awe-inspiring after 70 years.)

What does it take to have your show reach near record-breaking numbers? That is the magic bullet question for all trade show professionals. There are so many variables, it’s hard to make guarantees, but what we do know is that amazing, creative designs combined with hard-hitting messages rolled up into a program that delivers value is a great start.

The Vibe: Living in the DC area.

As the capital of the United States, Washington D.C. is prime land for politicians, lawyers, journalists, and more. Washington D.C. can be a very expensive area; however, there are a lot of job opportunities out there covering the gamut of industries including mine in marketing. Today’s D.C. is incredibly diverse in age, race, and business. From doing research and from my own personal knowledge, many millennials move to the D.C. area because they consider it a ‘hot spot.’ 10398588_1117103280044_852547_n
