Meet Adventurer, Katya Sovich!

Thu, Jun 1, 2017

“Adventurous” is both the keyword and modus operandi of our newest designer, Katya Sovich. Originally from St. Petersburg, Russia, she earned her M.A. degree in Linguistics and Cross-Cultural Communications at university there. But then she set off on two of her biggest adventures and changed both her career and her homebase: she is now happily married and ensconced in a graphic design career in Virginia – a world away.

Q: Coming to the U.S. was a quite an endeavor. How did that come about?

Michelle Lee – Which Twin Is Our New Hire?

Wed, Apr 12, 2017

Michelle Lee is a brand new hire in a brand new position at CSG – that of marketing coordinator, supporting all of the account executives and their clients. She is also an identical twin. Can you guess which of the above mirror images is our employee? Read on! And be alert – she and her sister Lara like to pull classic twin identity switches on the unsuspecting. The surprising thing to them is that people are fooled even when they don’t try to mimic each other at all, even now when they have completely different hair colors!

Ahoy There, Katie Parlin!

Tue, Jan 31, 2017

Katie Parlin, our newest Account Executive, comes to CSG with amazing credentials and, even better, a boat! She and her husband spend most weekends on their power boat relaxing and exploring Chesapeake’s waterways and history-rich towns while keeping a sharp eye on their toddler son. She is a Cum Laude graduate of SUNY Oswego, where she studied graphic design, and a graduate of the master’s program in Business Administration at the University of Washington. She has 10+ years of experience in integrated marketing campaigns, brand management, cross-functional communication and multidisciplinary teamwork – she’s ready to cruise right into the CSG waters.

Synchronizing your designs is our new Mistress of Ceremonies, Jen Mercer

Tue, Oct 25, 2016

Our newest designer, Jen Mercer, has skated into CSG and added a brand new edge to our design team, not to mention local ice arenas. As a long-time Busby Berkeley* movie fan, I couldn’t be more excited to have a synchronized ice dancer on board. Freestyle with an edge – what more could we want?img_6257sm

(*Oh, please, just the best synchronized-everything choreographer ever – still awe-inspiring after 70 years.)

Q: How did you get started in design?

CSG’s resident executioner of production.

Thu, Aug 4, 2016

Executioner, trafficker, collaborator – CSG employee Marybel Sotomayor sounds like a toughie, and she is, but only when it comes to print production. As our Production Coordinator, she assists in proofreading and editing various stages of CSG documents and page layouts, opening new jobs, and creating and updating production schedules. She also collaborates with colleagues and clients, and other supreme powers, and executes a host of tasks. And she can do all this in English or Spanish with equal ease.Marybel3

Q: You’ve lived and worked in quite a variety of places: Puerto Rico, Miami, Orlando, the Florida Keys, Virginia, do you still enjoy travel?

The Vibe: Living in the DC area.

Tue, Apr 5, 2016

As the capital of the United States, Washington D.C. is prime land for politicians, lawyers, journalists, and more. Washington D.C. can be a very expensive area; however, there are a lot of job opportunities out there covering the gamut of industries including mine in marketing. Today’s D.C. is incredibly diverse in age, race, and business. From doing research and from my own personal knowledge, many millennials move to the D.C. area because they consider it a ‘hot spot.’ 10398588_1117103280044_852547_n

Some bad holiday gift ideas are clearly ridiculous. (See this article for what to give that someone not-so-special.)

But others toe the line – trends can be open to interpretation.

For example, the “big trend” this year for the holidays is the hover board. Maybe it is because of Back to the Future Day (October 21, 2015). Or maybe it is just our fascination with tech. Either way, if you haven’t been living under a rock you’ve heard about hover boards.

Meet the Team – New Graduate and Fashionista Patricia Sutherland

Thu, Dec 3, 2015

Patricia Sutherland joined CSG on Veterans Day this year and brought a fresh whiff of fashion along with her organizational and writing skills. She describes herself as “very girly” when it comes to fashion, mining Pinterest and Cosmo for the latest trends, plus watching news and entertainment for what’s hot. If she were a brand, she would like it to be Kate Spade – style with personality.
